The Harris Theater is thrilled to have been voted The Chicago Reader’s Best Venue for Dance in 2024, for the 4th year in a row.

Thank you to those who voted!
At the Harris in 2024, New Zealand’s leading contemporary dance company Black Grace made their Chicago debut, New York City Ballet returned after 20 years to share repertoire that spanned decades, legendary ballerina Wendy Whelan performed with spoken word artist Marc Bamuthi Joseph, and Philadelphia’s BalletX offered three show-stopping works. Not to mention our extraordinary Resident Companies representing the wide-ranging talents of our city and the wonderful Visiting Companies who showed their work on our stage.
The first few months of 2025 bring epic, can’t-miss performances: Chicago-based tap dancer Jumaane Taylor’s celebration of John Coltrane in Supreme Love in a performance with jazz vocalist Dee Alexander in Feburary, Ragamala Dance company’s return with an elegant new work, Children of Dharma in March, and the conclusion of the iconic Twyla Tharp’s 60th anniversary diamond jubilee tour in April — featuring Oliver-nominated Diabelli and a new work SLACKTIDE performed live with Chicago’s own Third Coast Percussion.
We are so proud to be Chicago’s Home for Music and Dance, and we can’t wait to welcome you again this spring. Explore the exciting upcoming dance performances and experience these artists’ spectacular visions for yourself!
