Giordano Dance Chicago (GDC) returns to the Harris Theater in their 62nd season with SOARING, a powerful celebration of Life, Light, and Legacy on April 4-5, 2025. This memorable performance marks Nan Giordano's 40 years of visionary artistic leadership, while honoring the life of her son, Keenan Giordano Casey.
The program features Emmy Award winning, Resident Choreographer, Al Blackstone who brings his second full company world premiere for GDC set to an original music score by percussionist and pianist Stahv Danker. 333 by Nan Giordano and Cesar G. Salinas hits the stage for the first time, a solo created for Erina Ueda (Dance Magazine’s 25 to Watch 2024). The tantalizing Red & Black by ABC TV show Dancing with the Stars choreographer Ray Leeper, fusing passion, elegance, and sophistication returns to the stage. Groove, in formed, by renowned mastermind choreographer Peter Chu, blending bold movement with intricate rhythms set to the original score by Jake Kelberman. The visually stunning Taal, a captivating work by Nan Giordano in collaboration with Natya Dance Theatre, bridging cultures together through beauty and unity.
